Lia’s Nook

About

Hi, I’m Miju. Staff developer with close to a decade at a Toronto-based tech company, working remotely from Alberta. I write down the phrases, habits, and unwritten rules I wish someone had told me earlier, plus the small tools I build and the things I’m into.

Lia, a tabby Maine Coon, wearing a sunflower
This nook is named after my cat, Lia, a Maine Coon with lynx-tipped ears and strong opinions. She sleeps on my keyboard during stand-ups and supervises every post.

Why this site exists

Most workplace advice is either too generic or written by people who haven't sat in a sprint planning meeting in years. This site collects the phrases, email templates, and unwritten rules that actually come up in North American offices, especially tech teams, from someone who uses them every week.

How articles are written

I use AI tools to help outline and draft some articles. Every article is reviewed, edited, and checked against my own experience before it is published, and examples come from real situations (with names and details changed).
